Rocky Mountain Toy Train Show

Get out your conductor hat and your whistle, it’s time once again for the Rocky Mountain Toy Train Show, taking place at the Denver Merchandise Mart from November 24th to the 25th. It’s only the largest model train show in the western United States. With over 120,000 square feet of trains and hundreds of vendors, it’s guaranteed to have that one piece you’re looking for, or to capture the imagination of the inner-child on all of us.

But if your inner-child isn’t the only child in your life, they also have a Kids Corner with train races, rides, and story-time to keep them occupied. “There’s something for every level — even people who just want to come for some entertainment value and have their kids have a good time,” says Jim Marski, the coordinator of the event. They will also be handing out door prizes and various other gifts throughout the two day event.

There will also be classes and seminars, ranging from train repair and maintenance to landscape design and world building. Representatives from major railroading agencies will be on hand to discuss their travel packages.

But Amtrak isn’t the only train company in Colorado. The Royal Gorge Railroad Society, Platte Valley Trolley, Greely Freight Station Museum, Denver society of Model Railroaders, and other local train companies will be on hand to discuss your options for exploring our beautiful state through the thousands of miles of railroad lines that cross over it.

So if you’re a casual train enthusiast, or a hard-core model railroader, there is guaranteed to be something for you at the Rocky Mountain Toy Train Show.
