At milehimodern we like to share the stories about the great MOD new restaurants opening around town.  When it comes to new restaurant announcements Hip and Cool LoHi always has exciting news.

But today, we wanted to share something in our Eats section that isn’t MOD… it’s Cozy, Warm, and delicious.

LoHi’s Sassafras has taken the neighborhood by storm with their southern twist on Breakfast.   The lines on the weekend literally stretch out the door.

There’s a reason everyone is taking note of Sassafras.  The space is filled with warmth.  Wooden floors, rustic tables, and the charm of a historic home create a Cozy spot to gather.  Sassafras American Eatery resides in the Historic William J. Dunwoody House dating back to 1889.   Even the stained glass windows remain intact… we love that.

The food… oh that’s where the magic happens.  The Sassafras menu includes Chicken Fried Eggs, Duck Fat Sausage Gravy and Biscuits, and some deliciously sweet Elvis Beignets (Warm Peanut Butter Mousse filled Banana Beignets, served with a Bacon Molasses Jam, featuring House smoked Sassafras Bacon).

If you haven’t been to the newest hit of LoHi and Jefferson Park don’t wait… the lines just keep getting longer.

Yum….  and happy Breakfast from the team at milehimodern.com
