You may have seen it already. The sprouting up from one house to the next, holiday lights are beginning to cover every block. And it isn’t just in the residential neighborhoods either.

Things have come a long way from just coat hangers and license plates. Where once those were the only things produced by inmates, now there are musicians making albums behind bars, books are being written in solitary, and other forms of expression are taking hold.

The McNichols Building, Denver's first library, has been transformed with the help of 4 million dollars and a lot of hard work. The reason behind the renovation finds it's roots in the arts.

The Denver Art Museum is host to "Becoming Van Gogh," a newly opened exhibition going on from now until January 20th, 2013.
